Kings of Leon Tickets – Band Working to Help Flood Victims in Nashville

The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville was recently underwater as a result of the massive flooding in the area, and now musical acts around the globe are concocting ideas of how they can aid local residents. Both Jack White and Kings of Leon are trying to figure out ways to support the Nashville community in this time of crisis. Kings of Leon drummer Nathan Followill spoke to The Guardian about the incident, saying, “It was heartbreaking to see my city in such bad shape. Nashvillians are strong so I definitely think we will recover stronger than ever.”

According to Spinner, several country music artists were among the first to take action, with figures such as Keith Urban, Vince Gill, Taylor Swift and Ke$ha all becoming involved in the cause to help raise aid for flooding victims in Nashville. In other Kings of Leon news, the band recently announced opening acts for their upcoming summer tour trek. Several popular acts will be joining the group on their journey, including outfits like the Black Keys, Built to Spill, the Features, the Stills and the Whigs. The Kings of Leon released their latest album, Only by the Night, in fall of 2008, and the outfit has been riding on the success of radio hits “Use Somebody” and “Sex on Fire” since. The Kings of Leon first formed in Nashville, Tenn. in 2000, though it took a few years for the rock group to find success on the Billboard charts. Their debut album, called Youth and Young Manhood, emerged in 2003, but it was Kings of Leon’s sophomore album, Aha Shake Heartbreak, that won them scores of fans throughout Europe and the U.K. The next album Because of the Times, released in 2007, was also a considerable success, debuting in the U.S. at number 25 on the Billboard charts.

Yet it was their latest offering, Only by the Night, which turned Kings of Leon into hot stars. The leadoff single “Sex on Fire” went on to achieve number one status on charts both in the U.K. and in the U.S. Capitalizing on the album’s sudden success, Kings of Leon wasted no time in hitting the road in support of the mainstream effort. Other popular tracks featured on Only by the Night include “Crawl,” “Manhattan,” “I Want You” and “Be Somebody.”
