Why are no awards given for jazz and classical in the American Music Awards?
The awards honor rap, rock, pop, R&B, and country music. However, I have not seen any blues performer win in the R&B category. Jazz, classical and latin genres of music are ignored. Is this just a big, long advertisement for mostly horrible “top 40″ music?
it probably is because the greater part of the American audience is uneducated and doesn’t even know about the existence of other kind of music… unfortunately the ones who appreciate different styles of music have to suffer.
