I’m looking for the artists who sings, and the name of a country music song?
The subject of the song is a woman in an abusive relationship. Most of the song speaks about how her lover/husband puts her down, sucks the life out of her and manipulates her into thinking she is worthless and needs to stay with him in this destructive relationship. At the end of the song she realizes she is not trapped, can leave anytime and she does. The lyrics near the end of the song are words to the effect (this may not be an exact quote) “as soon as she realized she could leave she was gone.” Does anyone know the artist and title of this song?
