What qualifications do you need to join a (rock) band?

I am a 14 year old that is very intersted in rock music, especially Guns n’ Roses. I have been playing the electric guitar for a couple of months, and plan to follow a structured grade by grade course with a qualified teacher. I have been playing the piano for about 6 years and have passed each exam (introductory to grade 3) with merits and other high marks. I am not very interested in academic music that they teach in schools, but have quite good music theory. I am not doing a GCSE in music either, but plan to carry on with both piano and guitar. If I decided to ever join a band and do serious (maybe even professional) stuff, would i be accepted without any formal music qualification (gcse/ alevel etc)?

Talent, ambition, style, love for music, dedication and drive. During your audtion for a band….blow them away!
The guitar player in Judas Priest joined the band when he was 13 years old and did not know how to play the guitar. He was a natural……
If you have the talent they aren’t going to care how you got there!
I’m not sure if you’ve heard of Yanni (he’s more new world music), but he is self-taught and one of the most successful musicians in his genre. He actually started out making up his own notes.
