How to get signed by a Record Label?
First off, the band manager got fired. Need to find a new one and okay, we know the basics of getting signed by a record label. I know you have to send a demo cd etc. But we’re having problems getting signed, we don’t know if it’s our looks [which are perfectly cool to us], music type or what not. There are A LOT of unsigned bands but, we think we’re pretty good. Pretty good won’t get us far, but bringing a new sound to the music industry definately will. We’re a Punk rock/electronica band w/ several other genres put together, we think we’re good, but if we have to travel abroad to get signed then, i guess we shall….Just need a list of places with good, popular labels that might like Punk rock/electronica genred bands. Cause’ Canada isn’t giving us much attention or maybe it’s just that we don’t pay much attention to the record labels here. help?
first of all you have to be very good at whaterver your doing. which is i guess your band. second, to get in contact with them, you need to audition… look in the phone book and stuff for numbers ( telephone ) and look for auditions for bands. if they like you then your in. but your going to tour a lot like around the world. and never have any time for yourself. but i hope i helped plz vote best answer.!!!
