Do you agree with Allan Bloom on rock music and those who listen exclusively to it (quote attached)?

I totally get that some people listen to all types of music, myself included. But, if one listens only to rock music exclusively, do you feel this statement is true or false? Keep in mind the “type” of people in high school that listened to death metal vs the type of person who listened to bubble gum pop music. Do you believe music sheds light on the person’s inner desires and feelings?
hmm, tough question. i think it does. like i dont think you can interpret what someone desires or what they think from the music they listen to. But i think you can get a basic opinion of what kind of person they are. Hard to explain, but like a fair few people i know who have like almost the exact same taste in music we get on exceptionally well and all find the same kinds of things funny. not sure if that helps but i don’t think that if the same person who experianced the exact same things in life for example listened to rock instead of pop it would influence who they turned out to be.
