how can get my mom and dad to accept the music i listen to?
music is my life and the type i listen to is screamo. when i listen to it, it has to be on my ipod. and if they hear it coming out of my room, they start criticizing me and call me emo (which i’m not). and some of my favorite bands are very popular, so their merch isn’t in stores; only on websites… and i don’t have a credit card and i can’t get the merch anywhere else… and my mom REFUSES to order anything for me if it’s a band that screams. and i tell her that i will pay for it, but she says no.
i don’t criticize her music (crappy classic rock sh*t)

Well, maybe you should make sure your parents don’t hear it coming out of your room. It’s their house, and if you play it so they can hear it, and they already don’t like it, it obviously isn’t going to go well for you. You have to be considerate of them, too. And, sad but true, they don’t have to buy it for you. Life’s not fair sometimes, but if this is the worst you come up against, you’ll survive.
