Does music need a new John Peel?
The guy who can go on that quest to open up new forms of pop music, for whom labels and genres are irrelivent. A man who listens to pretty much every demo tape he gets given. A man not afraid of airing the stuff no other mainstream station DJ would touch. A man not afraid of breaking the rules to play it to the people…
I think so…
And for those who don’t know who John Peel was, shame on you! Without him, Prog-rock, Punk, Post-Punk, Reggae, early Hip Hop and countless other genres would never have been given much exposure.

Thank you for actually mentioning John Peel
He was one of music’s greatest losses…
The problem is, I really don’t think there is anyone these days who loves music as much as John did, who would be willing to follow in his footsteps.
