Do you think it sucks how our parent’s generation had legends like Led Zeppelin, Queen, Jimi Hendrix, and many more.
And were stuck with Blink 182, Green Day, Fall out Boy, Panic! at the Disco and more shit music….
Do you think rock is falling apart?
Do you think it will EVER recover?
Like most everything in society, over-commercialism has strangled much good rock music. There is some good out there, but you have to go through a lot of bad to get to it.
There is also a stagnation musically due to lack of pushing boundaries, an over focus on the performer, (ala American Idol), and not enough attention to the composer. It’s more important to have a hit and sell these days than create something with a truly great hook, or using a unique approach to composition.
In short, do not support bands and performers that you feel aren’t creative or musically interesting. If you don’t buy their CDs, download their songs, watch them on TV, or go to their concerts, they will go away.
