Drugs= Music Genius?
Hasn’t anyone noticed that the most prominent figures in rock music have taken drugs at some point during their life (in most of their cases, their lives are already over), yet they have transcendental, aspiring musical genius and are rock icons in present day. Presely, Hendrix, Morrison, Cobain, etc. Not that I am recommending anyone to try, but do you think that if a good musician tried drugs he/ she would become much more successful then they were before taking them? Or, maybe it was a coincidence that these musicians were so good and took drugs at the same time…?
I think drugs has a positive effect to musicians. Obviously drugs doesnt have a positive effect on an average blue collar or white collar employees of the corporate world. Im lead to belive that the reason why drugs help musicians is because it helps them to create better and keeps their minds off everything distracting outside. Think about how much stress and distraction these icons have to deal with on a daily basis. They deal with crazy fans, press,producers,agents. Drugs is probably the only thing they can rely on to make music and feel at ease.
