Is Rock ‘n’ Roll/ Heavy Metal dead….??
Nobody seems to wanna rock anymore. Theres too many, I think, bands these days that are feeding kids so much negative energy and emotion and its infuencing them to be boring and depressive…!
In the 80′s, rock ‘n’ roll was about having fun, living your life the way YOU want to live it, shouting out loud at all your problems, not taking life SO seriously, and just plainly kickin’ ass!
Honestly it just seems like no one wants to have a good time or have fun anymore…!!?
I think people and music have just gone straight to hell… real Rock ‘n’ Roll and Heavy Metal means nothing these days.
I read an article in Classic Rock lately, the writer discussed this. He basically reckoned rock/metal in the 80s was all about fantasy, the idea that you could escape the mundane everyday world by entering the world of big hair/leather gear/guitars/hairspray/wreckin hotel rooms/turnin it up to 11 etc … putting on ur records til ur ears bled and believing you were Nikki Sixx/David Lee Roth/James Hetfield/whoever
then in the 90s, along came grunge. nirvana, alice in chains etc bringin u back down to earth with a bang and realising life is crap, basically.
so no matter how much the young pretenders – killers, darkness, fallout boy try – we feel let down by the guys in the 80s who were meant to live forever and we feel ridiculous letting our hair down & rockin out because the cynical grunge has killed the mood
