rock music albums

why do rock albums have just one producer and pop albums do many producers?
generally, if you pick a pop album, you can see it has been produced by many music producers. One of them is in charge of a couple of songs, another couple of producers work together in a few tracks, etc
but in rock albums, you’ll see that all songs are produced by the same producer
what might be the reason???
Generally speaking…most pop artists don’t write their own music. Production credits are listed for anything from songwriting to the actual recording sound produced on the record. Pop albums can have a wide array of tracks…anything from dance type stuff to rockish stuff..and often many music producers work within a range or genre of music. One who does alot or hip hop for example…may not necessarily be the guy you go to for doing a rock ballad….hence pop albums occasionally have multiple production specialists listed. Rock bands on the other hand do most of the writing themselves(typically) and walk into a studio with alot of ideas and what they want to do…a producer helps them achieve their goal. Given whatever band it is plays a typical rock format…a guitar or two…a drummer..bass player and vocalist/singer…really only one producer is needed. Not sure i explained it all that great buit i think you can get the idea.
