What Do You Think Caused Hip Hop To Get Looked Down Upon So Much?
I think that a few early gangsta rap groups (which I like BTW and are my favorite groups) permanently gave hip hop a negative image which has never gone away. If gangsta rap had been invented later than it was, I think hip hop would have had a better chance to establish itself as a legitimate genre, and as a whole, the public image of it would be a lot more positive.
BTW GANGSTA RAP IS THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s my favorite kind. But sometimes I wish that it had been invented later along the rap timeline so that I wouldn’t have to listen to all these f@ggots like Bill O’Reilly talk about how rap is just music for criminals.
Hip Hop had a bad public image decades before Soulja Boy. Read the question first before you answer.
- use of profanity
- the fact that they dont play any instruments
- the fact that they dont sing
- the way women are portrayed
- the promotion of violence
those are all the reasons why my parents hate it. i know, its stereotypical, but songs that have any of the above (and every rap song has at least 1) are the reasons people hate rap.
