Women have always been portrayed as sex symbols. Not just in rap music and reggaeton. It’s all in how a woman “markets” herself. If a woman wears slutty clothing, then she’ll be labeled a slut. If she composes herself in a classy way, then people will treat her as such. I don’t like when people blame rap music for the ills of the world. All of the women in rap videos are willing participants. No one is being held there against their will. Don’t be mad at the rapper for having “video hoes”, be mad at the women that prostituted themselves to be in that video. There are women all over the world that are NEVER labeled as sex symbols are blatant sluts. When have you EVER heard of Oprah being labeled as either? Michelle Obama? Hilary Clinton? They present themselves in a classy manner and are treated as such. Prosititution is the world’s oldest profession, rap music is only about 30 years old, you are putting the carriage before the horse…
