Work in the entertainment industry in usa?
Hi, i am 21 , and i live in France. I would like to work in the entertainment industry in Usa and be either a sound engineer in a recording studio (maybe not as the industry is doing bad now) or handle the business part of entertainment and become a live performance promoter for example ( i mean negociate live performances contracts) maybe at Las vegas after learning the basics. My other option/dream would be to be a part of a tour (music) staff and travel with artists (not to butter ‘em up, i am not a groupie) from country to country. What is the place in Usa in which i would be most likely to find a cheap place to live in and a boss who would help me get a work permit? I know it is very childish and everything to think i could make it without going to college but still i would like to try.
Your primary problem will be a work Visa. You can not come to the US and look for work on a tourist visa and you can not turn a tourist visa into a work visa. You would also have to find an employer willing to sponsor you AND who could not find a citizen to do the job. Your not having a college degree will only make it harder.
