Why Asian girls are not so big in the western fashion/music/beauty/entertainment industry?
I know…you might say ‘Well ‘coz they’re not Westerners…’ but…basically I was just wondering…
I was looking through a magazine today and I noticed that there aren’t a lot of Asian girls say…(Japanese, Chinese, Malaysian, Thai, Filipino’s…etc on it…) I know a lot of people who think Asian girls are hot and yes, they are very pretty and just so attractive and everything and I just think..Yeah Yeah they’re so cool! I definitely agree but…how come they’re not featured in many UK or American magazines? I mean, Asians dress so good and for some reason, almost all kinds of clothes suit a lot of Asians…Is it because most of them are from small powerless (compared to Americans and British ppl) countries?
Just wondering that’s all…
Well, mostly because it’s the commercial industry. Western magazines mainly target a Caucasian or African American audience (the majority populations), so having Asian models wouldn’t benefit the advertising I guess.
I’m not so sure about the music and entertainment industries though… I guess since the majority of people aren’t Asian, recording labels and movie producers tend to look for artists with a look that more people will buy and relate to.
