why do the folk music of the Falkland Islands is a lot different to the folk music of Scotland or Wales?

the Falkland Islands are in the south atlantic ocean, near of the south coast of Argentina and Chile, it´s in South America, but it belongs to an European country (UK)

the most part of Falkland Islanders are descendants of Scotish and Welish pirates than got the islands 200 years ago, but there are a lot of people than came from Norway and Chile to job in the sheep farming

the capital city, Port Stanley looks as a Welish village, it is so nice, Colorful and full of friendly people

and I listened a lot of the folk music of the islands, and of course it sounds like Welsh folk music, but I could hear, than it sounds a lot different than the Welish folk music

but, why does it sound a lot different?

ps:
I´m a dutch boy who work in a NGO and visited the islands

It is evolution. With time, music changes. The influences on the music of the Falklands is different to that of Wales since the population of the two diverged.
