How do you play country music ?

Is there a certain scale or method of playing country ?

Thanks

Sure. You can play the simple mountain sounds like the Carter Family or Roy Acuff did.

Or you can emulate jazz guitar master Django Reinhardt like Chet Atkins did.

Or you can do western swing like Bob Wills did.

Or you can play honky tonk like Buck Owens or Webb Pierce.

Or you can play Nashville sound like Jim Reeves and Patsy Cline.

Or you can do Cajun like Doug Kershaw or Jimmy C. Newman.

In other words, there’s no such thing as a singular country sound in historical country music. It’s only in the past 15 years when only one lame formulaic sound has been passed off as “the sound” of country.
