Is there a rule?: ALL country music superstars MUST live in the Nashville Metro Area?
It seems that no matter where these superstars were born(the legendary, late Buck Owens was born in Bakersfield, Garth Brooks was born in Yukon, Oklahoma[just west of OKC], and newcomer Julianne Hough is from Salt Lake City), there must be some strictly-enforced tradition that they all must move to Nashville and live there the rest of their lives, just to make their “fans”(and the staff at WSM Radio) happy…
Is it still strictly enforced?…and if so, why?…why can’t they live wherever they want?…
Look at Garth Brooks:he was born in Oklahoma, but has to maintain a full-time home outside Nashville, just to keep the Ryman folks happy…
Just curious…
Gee, I hope NOT!…
Julianne should stay in SLC, not just because she’s a choreographer(like big brother Derek), but she has a better way of showing her talent!
Buck is still the country music “king” of Bakersfield!…and should stay that way!
Garth still has a home in Yukon(Oklahoma), where his mom still lives…
AFAIK, there NO rule that says that if you’re a country-music singer, you HAVE to live in Nashville…you don’t HAVE to appear exclusively on WSM;there’s also US99 in Chicago…
HTH…and good luck…
