We Love Any Kind of Music

How would your music tastes be different if you’d never had internet access?

If anyone out there is like me…I live in rural North Carolina.

If I relied on local media/radio/television my tastes would be very limited….I’d probably be a country music fan. The term “indie rock” would completely go over my head.

But that’s just my life…what about you? For those that have been around long enough..has your taste changed over the years BECAUSE of the internet?

My taste in music is similar to yours.
I don’t like most popular music, and
I NEVER listen to popular radio
stations, for that reason. However,
I don’t rely on the Internet for my
love of indie music, or independent
artists. Instead, I go to record stores
and take a chance on something new
after browsing through the racks.
When I go to an art studio to sketch,
there’s always something new that
inspires me to add to my collection.
I listen to college and independent
radio stations. I get recommendations
from friends. If I hear something in a
store that’s cool, I ask who the artist
is, and then I buy the music. And
magazine reviews are very good
sources for new music. I guess
what I’m trying to convey is that
it didn’t take the Internet to create
opportunities to find indie music.
