Things to do in Nashville?
I’m thinking of going to Nashville for my 16th birthday. Is it an exciting place?
I’m a big country music fan. Can I visit the grand ole opry? Is there museums and stuff?
there is tons to do here! We moved here 7 years ago after vacationing here! Let’s see…. go to the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Ryman Auditorium, possibly the Musicians Hall of Fame. Check out the Walk of Fame in the park area in front of the Hilton downtown. Walk along lower Broadway to see all the honky tonks- you may not be able to go in but you can hear all the bands from the sidewalk and see many through the windows. Go to the Wildhorse Saloon (you can get in there!) on 2nd Ave.- they have free line dance lessons that are so fun as well as shows on many nights. Best to check out their website to see if anything is happening when you’re here so you can get tickets. Ys, you can go to the Grand Ole Opry- go to their website, too to get tickets to a show. The Opry is located next to the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and the Opryland Mall a few miles from downtown off of Briley Pkwy. BUT during Oct- Feb. they perform at the Ryman Auditorium downtown on 4th Ave. Visit the Frist Museum, walk along the streets of Music Row, between 16th and 18th Avenues to see all the big name and little funky record companies. Go to Centennial Park to see the only full size replica of the Parthenon with a 40′ tall gold leaf covered Athena. It houses a museum as well. Visit a few of the historic mansions and plantations from the civil war era including Pres. Andrew Jackson’s home, the Hermitage or Carnton plantation in Franklin where the blood stains from all the amputations done after the battle of franklin are still on the wood floor!
