I understand that the media does this with movie and music stars….but the future of this country is too important to be just another in a long line of media creations used to sell papers both on the rise and the fall.
Do you think that this is just a case of people waking up from under the spell or that this is the beginning of the inevitable downward spiral of all media created celebrities?
Well the whipping boy has moved on – time to start picking at the armor of the new knight. I am not ready to give over to failure just yet but while I trying to give him the benefit of the doubt and wish him well… I can’t help but wonder how the families of 9/11 victims feel about his first act being delaying the trials of the five men charged with murder and terrorism – or the family, friends and fellow soldiers of Sgt 1st class Andrew Speer (killed in 2002 in Afghanistan by then 15 yr old Canadian native – Khadr) feel about the possibility of Khadr being released and shipped off to a human rights group in Canada. No worries though, just like we didn’t care about the military’s votes – we won’t hear about or care about the victims of the folks currently spending time at Gitmo – just their “rights” and how we as a nation have wronged them.
So it begins…
