WHAT SONG SUMS UP COUNTRY MUSIC?
of all the songs you have heard, which one. old or new ,would you say has got words and lyrics that would sum up country music to some one who has never heard any before .i don’t mean your Favorit.songs ,but songs like “red river valley” etc etc.or “give me a home were the Buffalo rome”,etc etc
I was actually tying to figure this out the other day to give to my cousin because I asked if she knew who Johnny Horton was and she said she didn’t, but after singing “The Battle of New Orleans” she then said she did know that song and added “I didn’t know that was country” to which I replied, “If that isn’t country, what is?” So I decided to come up with some songs that I thought represented country music quite well.
