music question: cocaine blues, used to love her?
what’s your take on johnny cash’s “cocaine blues” or GNR’s “used to love her”….let’s throw the dixie chicks “something about Earl…yada yada” in here…..
are these songs just good music….can you look past the lyrics….? Women….do the first two songs offend you?
“Poetic license” allows a LOT of music (especially in TODAY’S society) to take liberties , one can HOPE, in a satirical fashion and be enjoyed for just that same content that makes it controversial.
Singing or writing about something does not make the artist guilty of promoting the activity mentioned therein.
