What American Country Music Stars Are Popular In Japan?

I want to get my Japanese cousins some CD’s but don’t know who they like(there is a language barrier so I can’t ask them). Do you think they would like Taylor Swift and Billy Currington? Or the more classic stuff like Johnny Cash and Hank Williams? My cousins are girls in their twenties. Thanks for any help.

American country music is not popular in Japan just like Japanese Enka is virtually unknown to the U.S.
But some big names as Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers, Waylon Jennings, Garth Brooks, ShaniaTwain, Faith Hill, and Dixie Chicks are known to a small number of Japanese fans.
